Delhi HC approves removal of Gurgaon toll plaza
NEW DELHI: The Delhi high court on Wednesday passed the consent order to remove Delhi border plaza on Gurgaon expressway.
Now, it's a matter of days for huge relief to lakh of commuters to zip through the plaza without stopping.
In his judgment, Justice Manmohan Singh has detailed the payment to be
made by the lead banker Infrastructure Development Finance Company
(IDFC) to the present operator Delhi-Gurgaon Super Connectivity Ltd
(DGSCL) to meet its pending liabilities.
Once the first toll plaza is removed, tolling will be allowed only at the second toll plaza at Kherki Dhaula.
"We have found solution which is win-win one for all parties. But the
main focus of the arrangement is the commuters who had been facing major
traffic jam on this stretch on regular basis. Traffic passing through
Kherki Dhaula plaza will pay the toll for entire stretch," said an NHAI
official.
The HC has set Thursday for hearing the case of Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) and its toll collection contractor.
