Sachin Tendulkar farewell series: Dismissed for 74, crowd applauds for the excellent 24 years

All hopes for a century were destroyed when Sachin Tendulkar was dismissed at 74, but the crowd made sure that the sporting spirit was kept alive.


He was caught by Darren Sammy in the slips. Narsingh Deonarine was the bowler. For a moment, there was pin-drop silence in the stands recovering from what they just saw, the entire crowd at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai gave the Master Blaster a standing ovation with cheers of 'Thank You Sachin' reverberating in the air.
   

As Sachin walked calmly albeit a little disappointed off the pitch, his illustrious career of 24 years came to a possible end.


His 200th and last test in Mumbai saw a full house including many famous personalities.
