MODI GOVERNMENT USED STATE FUNDS FOR COMPROMISE WITH SNOOP VICTIM

The Congress on Friday demanded the resignation of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, alleging that the public exchequer in Gujarat was misused to benefit the snooping victim by allotting a “big project in Gandhinagar running into crores” to a company run by the woman.
Gujarat Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil claimed that he had acquired the information about the allotment through RTI and threatened to reveal the details if Modi denied the charges.
“I am not doing so now because the RTI information has the name of the woman which I don’t want to reveal,” he said.
Gohil said even if anyone, including the victim or her father, did not want the matter to be probed, the state government could suo motu become a complainant and get the guilty prosecuted as the offence was “non-compoundable” for which no compromise is allowed between the accused and the victim under law.
He also alleged that a “compromise” was arrived and the state government allotted a “big project in Gandhinagar running into crores” to a company run by the woman in which two of her brothers were directors.
However, the Gujarat government rubbished the charge, saying the Centre had allotted the project of `61 lakh to the company for solar energy centre premises.
But the Congress remained unrelenting on its demand for a probe into the snooping row. “He (Modi) should quit if he has any morals. But Modi and morals always travel in opposite directions,” Gohil said and demanded a probe into the snooping episode by a sitting SC judge.
