The Congress on Friday demanded the resignation of BJP prime
ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, alleging that the public exchequer
in Gujarat was misused to benefit the snooping victim by allotting a
“big project in Gandhinagar running into crores” to a company run by the
woman.“I am not doing so now because the RTI information has the name of the woman which I don’t want to reveal,” he said.
He also alleged that a “compromise” was arrived and the state government allotted a “big project in Gandhinagar running into crores” to a company run by the woman in which two of her brothers were directors.
However, the Gujarat government rubbished the charge, saying the Centre had allotted the project of `61 lakh to the company for solar energy centre premises.
But the Congress remained unrelenting on its demand for a probe into the snooping row. “He (Modi) should quit if he has any morals. But Modi and morals always travel in opposite directions,” Gohil said and demanded a probe into the snooping episode by a sitting SC judge.
