Flipkart apologizes to customers for mega sale glitches

NEW DELHI: A day after its Big Billion Day sale, e-commerce giant Flipkart has sent a letter to its customers apologising for the glitches that the site encountered as it struggled to keep up with the heavy traffic. It has also touched upon the various pain points faced by consumers and responded to allegations of increasing prices before the sale.  The sale certainly got the e-commerce major's cash registers ringing, helping it garner a billion hits in a single day, but it has been a PR nightmare for the website.  Disgruntled consumers took to social networks to express their displeasure about jacked up prices, cancelled orders and the time and attempts taken to complete orders after adding items to cart, along with Flipkart's servers crumbling to the pressure of heavy traffic, throwing up random errors   And though we saw unprecedented interest in our products and traffic like never before, we also realized that we were not adequately prepared for the sheer scale of the event. We didn't source enough products and deals in advance to cater to your requirements. To add to this, the load on our server led to intermittent outages, further impacting your shopping experience on our sitelovely samal     PGDM 2ND
